CO2 Toll Exposure Estimator
Estimate the CO2 component of EU road tolls (Germany, Belgium, Austria) for your route in seconds.
Germany's CO2 Maut, Belgium's Viapass surcharge from July 2026 and Austria's Go-Maut all add a per-kilometre CO2 component on top of the regular toll. Pick your route below for a quick exposure bracket.
Tool input
Why this tool exists
It screens routes for CO2 toll exposure so official toll confirmation can be requested on the lanes that need it.
How it works
- Enter the vehicle and country distance details.
- The tool checks CO2 toll exposure screen against practical road-freight rules.
- Use the result to flag routes that need official toll confirmation.
FAQ
How accurate is the CO2 estimate?
It uses GLEC Framework default emission factors for European road freight and your route distance. Accuracy is roughly ±15% for typical lanes — enough for sustainability reporting and lane benchmarking, but a verified carrier-specific factor is needed for binding ESG disclosures.
Which countries' tolls are included?
France (TIS-PL), Germany (LKW-Maut), Belgium (Viapass), Austria (Go-Maut), Italy, Spain, and the Eurovignette network. Eastern-European tolls (PL, CZ, SK, HU, RO) use published per-km tariffs — confirm live operator pricing before booking.
Can I use this for client reporting?
For internal tendering and lane comparison, yes. For client-facing CSRD disclosures or carbon-offset purchases, ask Remo&Co for the carrier-verified figure — those need an audit trail this estimator does not produce.
