Freight Mode Selector

Pick the right freight mode in seconds: parcel, LTL, partial, FTL, express dedicated or rail multimodal — based on your weight, urgency, distance and budget.

We do not push every shipment into the same trailer. Tell us what you ship and we will guide you to the mode that actually fits — including rail or parcel when they win on cost or speed.

Why this tool exists

It helps choose the right transport mode before comparing price, speed, handling, and control trade-offs.

How it works

  1. Enter the shipment profile details.
  2. The tool checks parcel, groupage, LTL, FTL, or express fit against practical road-freight rules.
  3. Use the result to choose the transport mode to price.

FAQ

How does it decide between FTL, LTL, and express?

It weighs your loading-metres or pallet count against typical fill thresholds (FTL above ~80% trailer fill, LTL groupage below 7 LDM, express when deadline pressure or cargo value justifies a dedicated unit) and surfaces the mode with the lowest expected total cost.

Why does the recommendation sometimes differ from my own assumption?

LTL groupage is often cheaper than expected for 4–10 pallets on dense lanes (FR–DE, FR–BE) but slower. FTL becomes worth it earlier on long-haul lanes where per-km cost dominates. The tool surfaces this trade-off explicitly.

When does Remo&Co overrule the recommendation?

Time-critical loads, high-value or fragile cargo, ATP/temperature-controlled chains, or when our lane data shows reliable consolidation pricing the public tool does not see. Always check with us before pinning down the mode for a recurring contract.
