Why this tool exists

It screens urgent deadlines against road-freight operating limits before a shipper promises an express delivery.

How it works

  1. Enter the lane timing details.
  2. The tool checks driver-hours feasibility against practical road-freight rules.
  3. Use the result to decide whether express delivery needs a special plan.

FAQ

What rules does the feasibility check apply?

EU Regulation 561/2006 driver-hours limits (9h daily, 4.5h continuous, mandatory rest periods), realistic motorway cruise speeds (~75 km/h for trucks), and customs/ferry delays where applicable. Single-driver and team-driver scenarios are both modelled.

What can change a 'feasible' verdict?

Real-world traffic, weather, border waits, mandatory loading/unloading time, and whether the driver has fresh hours available at pickup. The tool assumes ideal conditions — your transport specialist confirms the rest.

When is express truly the right move?

When the deadline is non-negotiable (production line stop, event load-in, automotive line-down), the cargo value justifies a dedicated truck, or no scheduled groupage line covers the window. We will tell you when standard FTL with priority routing is cheaper and just as fast.
